KENNETH R. SCHRADER
HORNELL – Kenneth R. Schrader, 62, of 54 Sherman St., died Thursday
(July 27, 1989) at St. James Mercy Hospital, where he had been a patient
for 10 days.
Born Feb. 23, 1927, in Hornell, son of Ellis and Thelma Glover Schrader, he
was married June 14, 1947, in Hornell, to the former Virginia Hills, who survives.A
machinist for the former Erie Railroad, he was employed for 20 years by the
state Department of Transportation in Hornell, retiring in 1972 due to poor
health.
Treasurer of the Canisteo Valley Archers and the Hornell area React team, he
was a member of Hornellsville Lodge 331, F&AM, and a life member of the
International Association of Machinists.
He was a member of Park United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Terry Bardeen
of Hornell; two sons, Kenneth of Swain and Donald of Hornell; one sister,
Mary D’Agostino
of Hornell; six grandchildren; one niece and one nephew, cousins.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robertson Funeral Home of Hornell,
where a service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Glenn Bucher officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s
choice.
